Our Story

The Grady County Democratic Committee has responsibility for and jurisdiction over Party affairs in Grady County. We support the principles of the Democratic Party and help elect Democratic candidates.

We provide education about the voting process and keep voters informed about issues that are important to our community. We collaborate with other like-minded organizations to keep citizens informed.

The Committee is apportioned and elected according to guidelines set forth in the State Charter and By-Laws of the Democratic Party of Georgia. The Committee is elected from five (5) Party Election Districts.

Each district contains two (2) Committee Posts for a total of ten (10) posts. Apportionment of Committee Posts among Party Districts is based on population. The Districts are comprised of voting precincts within each district.

Grady County Democratic Committee

The duty of the Committee is to work with Democratic officials at all levels to achieve the objectives of the Democratic Party. Specifically, the Committee shall foster development of local Democratic activities and affiliated organizations; seek and encourage qualified candidates for public office; support Democratic nominees for office; perform such primary and election functions as are required by law; maintain financial and other Party records as are required by law; promote and add logistical support to the State Affirmative Action program; raise funds for Democratic nominees and activities and perform such other duties as may be specified in the County and State By-laws.

When do we meet?

The Grady County Democratic Committee currently meets at 6:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month at the Roddenbery Memorial Library Auditorium. Any interested party is invited to attend. Please contact [email protected] if you wish to attend.
